Registering a domain

SiteStop does not sell any domains, you will need to purchase one from a domain reseller. SiteStop supports all domain names from .co.uk to .com and all variants in-between. Just remember to update your DNS Name Server to point to SiteStops name servers for your hosting to become active

How do I move my website to SiteStop?

If your old website is a collection of static files, then all you need to to is copy the files over to your new hosting account, you can do this via the online control panel, or simply using an FTP connection to your hosting account and transferring it via a browser or app.

If you are using a CMS system, then it could be slight more difficult, you will need to make sure you copy your databases as well as your website files

Do I need SSL?

You need an SSL certificate if you are handling any sensitive customer data. Ecommerce sites, which usually handle credit card payments, definitely need an SSL certificate. A site that allows for personal or private communication — email, messaging, file storage — needs a certificate.

Even if you don’t have a specific requirement for an SSL security certificate, you may want to get one anyway. At SiteStop all our hosting package include SSL certificate for you to use. HTTPS promotes safer browsing generally and web giant Google agrees with this.
